Physicians Exchange Operator - Per-Diem, Variable

The Physician's Exchange Operator is responsible for answering calls for physicians who are clients of the exchange service as well as taking messages for, and delivering messages to the appropriate physician and or office of the physician. The Physician's Exchange Operator will use the Startel computerized phone system in performing exchange duties.
This position requires the full understanding and active participation in fulfilling the mission of Saddleback Memorial Medical Center. It is expected that the employee demonstrate behavior consistent with the core values. The employee shall support Saddleback Memorial Medical Center's strategic plan and the goals and direction of the performance improvement plan.
Experience/Education:
Previous Physician's Exchange (PBX) or operating/answering service experience required.
Graduate of an accredited High School or GED preferred
Strong verbal communication skills.
Ability to work under pressure.
Basic typing and/or computer skills.
Bilingual (English/Spanish) desirable.



Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
