Data Conversion Developer needed for Data Science Team in Laguna Hill
Our client is committed to providing the highest quality medical care to children.
Affiliated with the University of California, Irvine, their regional pediatric healthcare network includes a state-of-the-art 334-bed main hospital facility in the City of Orange, and a hospital-within-a-hospital in Mission Viejo.
They also offer many primary and specialty care clinics, more than 100 additional programs and services, a pediatric residency program, and four centers of excellence.
Right now, they are looking for a Data Conversion Developer to assist their data science, analytics and Business Intelligence teams.
Responsibilities:
Design, implement and test the conversion of existing Excel, VBA & SQL models to a R/Python backend with a Shiny/Dash web based front end.
Optimize models to make models more efficient, accurate and comprehensive.
Develop tools to productionalize data science discoveries for easy access by business users.
Support the data science team in acquiring, cleansing and engineering data for longevity risk modeling.
Other ad-hoc programming needs as needed to support other departments.
Required skills/
Experience:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering or related technical field required 5
years of experience developing production level software/modeling solutions Expert knowledge in Microsoft Excel (model building/optimization, VBA, macros, complex lookups) Very comfortable with ETL in MS SQL Server, AWS Problem solver, Results/Task oriented, Proactive, Independent self-starter Clear and fluent communicator.
Able to discuss project issues/topics with users, present status orally and written, present demos Multi-tasking:
Ability to work on several projects at the same time as well as development and production support Pluses:
Experience with insurance or financial data Working knowledge of machine learning algorithms and big data solutions Compensation:
